Sports fans in Tampa Bay have a lot of options this weekend. The Tampa Bay Rays will play the New York Yankees in the three game series. The Tampa Bay Rowdies is also playing against the New York Cosmos. For people who want something out of the ordinary, they can catch the Florida Championship Fighting event at The Regent on Saturday, August 16. The site has been known as a venue for artistic, educational, social, meetings, weddings, philanthropic, and cultural events.
The headliner of the Florida Championship Fighting event is the fight between Tony Murphy of Pinellas Park and Terry Janoski of Gracie Tampa South. The two regional rivals are competing for the Florida Championship Middleweight title.
The Florida Championship Fighting event has ten fights and will feature the top MMA fighters from the State of Florida. It includes a match between Stephon Reese of Tallahassee and Dan Martinez of Venezuela for the 155 pound championship title. Clark Brightwell, a boxing sensation from Sarasota fights Patrick Corrigan of Ocala. Female fighters are also placed in the spotlight as top Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Erin Harpe battles Amber Rodriguez. 
Door open at 6 PM and the bouts will start at 7:30 PM at The Regent. Tickets cost $30 for general admission seating while VIP Premium Seating costs $65 that includes reserved seating in the first three rows and an in-cage photo with Winghouse Ring Girls taken by photographer Robert Richards, who is also known as Mr. Paparazzi. The VIP ticket also comes with a VIP Laminate Pass and an early entry into the venue.
There’s a meet and greet autograph session with some of the fighters before the event. Fans of MMA will also be able to buy merchandise during the event. The bouts are sanctioned by the Global Fighting Solutions.
