21st Annual Whirlwind Classic Tournament Took Place

The popularity of martial arts is getting higher and higher and people may participate in different competitions to check the skills and their ability to defense themselves. As a result, a lot of martial arts schools prepare their students for competitions and the perfect example of that may be associated with the McAlester Tae Kwon Do School. The members of this school took part in the 21st Annual Whirlwind Classic Tournament of Champions that took place in Tusla.

The tournament was held in the building that usually serves as a basketball gymnasium and belongs to Central High School. The arrangements were really great, all the floor was covered with mats to help students fight in comfortable conditions. Besides, the basketball gymnasium had enough capacity to accommodate eight fighting rings and each ring was served with a separate team of judges. The competition was not just hold for the students of one school but other members were represented by martial arts schools from surrounding states.

The participants had different ranks and ages having a chance to participate in three fighting categories. The first one included those students that could fight using different forms or, in other words, martial arts techniques. The second group of students wanted to show their skills in using martial arts techniques in combination with weapons.

And final form of the competition was presented by sparring using points system. It is an interesting fact that you could meet martial arts fighters of all ages starting from children and finishing by men reaching their fifties. The winner in all these three forms of competitions appeared to be the McAlester Tae Kwon Do School. The competition was visited by a lot of parents of participants and had a lot of onlookers that were taking pictures and videos.
