How to Identify Backcountry Campers

Backcountry camping

There is a category of campers that do not like to go to popular places or locations. They do not like to visit commercialized campsites which are crowded with people. The perfect place for them is a location which is hardly to reach and where there is no electricity or no running water. These people are called backcountry campers and they do not look like usual campers.

You can even call them professionals that wear the proper gear to overcome all the possible difficulties of the wildlife.

They are usually dressed in waterproof clothing and boots, hiking equipment and a Swiss army knife are the things which are a must for backcountry campers. Physical activity and natural challenges that are involved in the process of developing survival skills need to be presented in each of their trips.

These campers are not waiting for good weather conditions and their camping is usually associated with safety and survival in mind. They do not usually prepare food for their camping as they hope that they will use all the benefits provided by the nature such as fishing, hunting and bathing in a lake or a river. One of the things which is needed for survival is setting up a campfire for heating and cooking.

Backcountry campers will usually stay by a river or a lake which can stand for reliable source of drinking water. It is a perfect chance to find peace in isolation from people but at the same time it will allow any camper a lot more observation of wild life. The main mission of backcountry campers is to travel as far as possible.

That is why campers do not usually bring a lot of supplies and gear with them. For those who would like to start backcountry camping, a trip for one night will be perfect to experience all the difficulties of surviving in natural conditions.
